ちょー簡単にハチドリのえさが作れます。

• 砂糖 50ml
• 水（フィルターを通した水か、一日汲み置きしてカルキを抜いた水） 200ml

しっかり混ぜて、ハチドリ用のえさ入れに入れるだけ。あとはハチドリが来るのを待つのみ😉

It is super-easy to make Hummingbird nectar.

• Cane Sugar: 1/4 cup
• Water (filtered or left out for 24 hours to remove chlorine): 1 cup

Mix well and fill the feeder. Then, wait for hummingbirds to come😉

うちのハチドリ用のえさ入れも、15年くらい経ちます。プラスチックなのに長い間頑張ってくれて感謝です。いつも、新しくえさを入れるとその日のうちに飲みに来てくれます。市販のえさ入れはほとんどが赤色。というのも、ハチドリは赤が大好きだから。他の色が珍しくていいなぁと思っても、ぜひ赤色のえさ入れを買ってください。ハチドリが見れること、ほぼ100パーセント保証します。虫も食べるそうですが、やっぱり大好物は砂糖水。窓の外にえさ入れを出しておくと、一日に何回も砂糖水を飲みにきたハチドリを見ることができます。特に夕方は、寝る前にいっぱい栄養補給するのか、昼間よりも長くえさ入れのところにいます。上の写真も、夕方に長居している時に撮りました。

My hummingbird feeder is about 15 years old. Even though it’s plastic, it has lasted for a long time and I appreciate it. Every time I refill the feeder, they come to drink on the same day. Most commercially available feeders are red. Because hummingbirds love red. Even if you think that the feeder in other color looks rare and cool, please buy a red one. It is almost 100 % guaranteed that you can see hummingbirds. They also eat insects, but their favorite food is sugar water. Keep a feeder outside your window so that you can see the hummingbirds coming to drink your sugar water multiple times a day. Especially in the evening, they stay at the feeder longer than they do
during the day, probably because they are getting a lot of nutrition before they go to bed. The photo above was also taken in the evening when he was staying long.

ハチドリとはアメリカ大陸にいる（アメリカ大陸にしかいない）小さな鳥で、蜂のようにブンブン羽を羽ばたかせています（ほんとに蜂のような音がする）。普通の鳥のように、すーっと飛べないのですが、逆にヘリコプターやドローンのように上下左右自由に飛ぶことができます。366種類もいるのに（そのうち28種類は絶滅危惧種）、ポートランドで見れるのはたったの2種類。一年中いるのは、喉のところが赤いAnna’s Hummingbird（写真上、でも夕方かつ遠くからなので色がわかりにくいです）。夏に来るのは、喉のところがオレンジ色のRufous Hummingbird。リンクの写真を見てください。どっちも可愛いです🙂

Hummingbird is a small bird found in (and only in) the Americas that flaps its wings like a bee (it really does sound like a bee). They can’t glide like normal birds, but they can hover up, down, left and right like helicopters and drones. There are 366 species (28 of which are endangered), but only 2
can be seen in Portland. Year round resident is Anna’s Hummingbird with red throat (picture above, but color is hard to tell from the evening sky and taken from far). And migratory one, which comes in summer, is Rufous Hummingbird with orange throat. Please see the pictures in the link. Both are cute🙂
