〜Winter vacation special. The second part of the movie introduction. Don’t get fooled by Oil Industries!〜

マスターリサイクラーの勉強をしていた時に、たまたま行き当たったのがこれ。

I happened to come across this video when I was studying to become a master recycler.

「商品」をめぐる現代社会の現状と問題をアニメーションでわかりやすく説明しています。このアニメーションがすっごくよくできていて、3回も見てしまいました！ペースが早いので、日本語の字幕で見ている方は時々一時停止しないといけないかもしれません。

Animation clearly explains the current situation and problems of modern society regarding “products”. This animation was so well made that I watched it three times! It is a fast moving animation, so if you are watching with Japanese subtitles, you may have to pause occasionally.

The Story of Stuff Project（リンクここ）というウェブサイトには環境問題関連のビデオがたくさんあるわけですが、次に見ていただきたいのがこれ。

The website The Story of Stuff Project (link here) has many videos related to environmental issues, but this is the one I’d like you to watch next.

同じ調子のプラスチック版です。This is the plastic version with same tone.

そしてウェブサイトで同じタイトルの映画があることを発見。図書館で借りて子供達と観てみました。長女曰く、「映画の方が断然いい。」映像の力はすごいですね。DVDには多国語の字幕が付いています。もちろん日本語もありますのでぜひ！

Then, I found a movie with the same title on their website. I borrowed a DVD from the library and watched it with my kids. My eldest daughter says, “The movie is definitely better”. The power of images is amazing. DVD has multilingual subtitles. Of course, Japanese is also available, so be sure to check it out!

こんなにプラスチックごみとプラスチックの生成で汚染されているのに、石油業界は増産を見込んでいて、2050年までに2019年の量の2倍になるとか。そうなると世の中がどうなるのでしょう？

Despite all the pollution caused by plastic waste and plastic production, the oil industry is expected to increase production to double the amount in 2019 by 2050. What will the world be like if that happens?

そんなことさせてたまるかー！
