That’s what I said. AT MY PHARMACY PICK UP WINDOW.
って、言ったのよ。薬局の窓口で。
I don’t know why but this made my co-workers laugh😜
よくわからないけど、これがウケたみたい😜
My thought process went like this over several months.
-(We automatically put medications in a brown paper bag and give it to patients at pharmacy.)
-(Grocery stores started charging a nickel for a bag.)
-(Pharmacy Admin decided to stay (no charge).)
-Brown bags use energy and resources to make and they cost money, but our patients are low income, so it makes sense.
-After they take it home, what are they going to do with the bag?
-They just toss it in garbage or recycle bin.
–After. one. use.
-(I started asking them if they NEED a bag.)
-(A lot of people still take a bag, but some started saying no.)
-Some people actually don’t need a bag and are conscious about it.
-People take their own bags to grocery stores. Why don’t they do that at pharmacy?
-(I started emphasizing the word “NEED”, but some still say yes although they are getting only one medication.)
– You don’t need it! You don’t need to trash the planet!
こんな風に数ヶ月ほどいろいろ考えてたんですよ。
-(薬局では自動的に薬を茶色の紙袋に入れて患者さんに渡す。)
-(スーパーが紙袋代を5セント加算し始める。)
-(薬局はそのまま無料に。)
-茶色の紙袋もエネルギーと資源を使って作られているしお金もかかる。でも低所得の患者さんには負担させられないよね。
-家に持って帰って紙袋どうするの？
-埋め立てかリサイクルにするだけでしょう。
–一回使っただけで。
-(患者さんに紙袋が“必要”か聞き始める。)
-(まだまだ袋いるっていう人が多いんだけど、いらないっていう人もいる。)
-本当にいらなくて意識の高い人もいるのね。
-スーパーにはマイバッグ持って行くのに、なんで薬局には持って行かないんだろう？
-(“必要“かを強調してみる。でも一つしか薬がなくても袋いるっていう人もいる。)
-必要ないじゃん！環境破壊する必要ないじゃん！
Then, I started saying “You are welcome to bring your own bag next time😊 (with a smile).
そんなわけで、次はマイバッグ持ってきてくださいね😊(笑顔付き)、と言い始めたわけです。
You might say paper bags are recyclable. Yes, you are right. But making papers needs lots of energy and water (and trees of course). Recycling papers is the same, still needs energy and water.
紙はリサイクルできるって？その通り。でも紙を作るのに大量のエネルギーと水が使われています(もちろん木も)。リサイクルも同じ。エネルギーと水が必要なんですよ。
