〜Amazing! I did it! I am proud of myself!（日本語でこれを書くと恥ずかしいので書けない）〜

マスターリサイクラーのクラスがようやく終了しました。毎週水曜日午後6時から9時までを7回と土曜日午前8時から12時半までを2回の、合計9回で30時間。長いようで短かった！宿題の読み物も多いし一回のクラスが3時間と長いし、結構密でハードだった。でも、なんだか久しぶりに充実した時間を過ごせた気がします。自分だけのためにこんなに時間を使ったのが久しぶりだからかな？

The Master Recycler class has finally finished. 7 classes every Wednesday from 6pm to 9pm and two classes on Saturday from 8am to 12:30pm, totaling nine classes for 30 hours. It seemed long but it was short! There were a lot of homework reading and each class was 3 hours long, so it was quite intense. But it’s been a while I feel like I had a fulfilling time. Maybe it’s because it’s been a while since I’ve spent this much time just for myself?

このクラスを取って本当に良かったと思っていることは、自分と同じような興味関心を持っているクラスメートや講師に出会えたこと。クラスメートは私を入れてワシントン郡とマルトノマ郡から16名が参加。老若男女、色々なバックグランドの人がいて、様々な観点の意見や質問があり、とても刺激的でした。それでも同一のゴールに向かっていることで、とても心地よく、自分が自分でいられる気がしました（これって実は、移民としてアメリカで生きていると、あんまり経験しない）。そしてこのクラスは特別💓 だって88回生ですもの。中国で八は一番縁起のいい数字。日本でも末広がりで縁起がいい。最近ではライブチャットで拍手（パチパチ88）としても使われています。そしてクラスメートの一人のダイアンが言っていたように英語でも「ダブルインフィニティ」。永遠なる循環型社会x2ですね。

What I am really glad about taking this class is that I was able to meet classmates and instructors who had similar interests as me. Including myself, 16 classmates from Washington and Multnomah counties participated. There are people of all ages, men and women, from various backgrounds, and we exchanged opinions and questions from various perspectives. It was very exciting. Still, I felt very comfortable and was able to be myself because we were working towards the same goal (I don’t actually get experience like this as I live in the US as an immigrant). And this class is special💓 because it’s the class 88. Eight is the best good luck number in China. In Japan, eight shows widening at the end, so it is a good luck number. Recently, it has also been used as applause (clap, 88) in live chats. And as one of my classmates, Diane, said, it’s “double infinity” in English as well. It’s an eternal circulatory society x2.

このプログラムはリサイクルや気候変動、環境汚染などに興味がある人にはオススメ度最高ランクです。私はリサイクルについていっぱい学べるなーと思ってこのプログラムに応募したのですが、ハンドブックの厚さを見てわかるように、それだけではありません。物品を作るところ（上流）から地球への影響を考え、その物品の末路（下流）までを考えます。家庭での消費のあり方を考えさせるような情報が満載。これって、学校でみんなが学ぶべきなんじゃない！？というような内容です。ってそれができてないから私たちが伝道するのか！

This program is highly recommended for people interested in recycling, climate change and environmental pollution. I applied for this program thinking that I would be able to learn a lot about recycling, but as you can see from the thickness of the handbook, there is much more to it than that. We learned the impact on the earth from the point where a product is made (upstream) to the end of the product (downstream). It is packed with information that will make you think about how you consume at home. This is something everyone should learn in school!? Ah, since that has not been done, we are going to preach!

講師も全員素晴らしい人ばかりでした。最終日にはオレゴン州の上院議員のジャニーン・ソルマンさんまで来てたんですよ💓 彼女もマスターリサイクラーで、現在、施行に全力疾走中のリサイクリング現代化法の重要人物です。

All the instructors and speakers were also wonderful. On the last day, even an Oregon senator, Janeen Sollman, was there. She is also a master recycler, and is currently working on the Recycling Modernization Act, which is currently being implemented at full speed.

この後はボランティア活動を30時間終了して、「マスターリサイクラー」の証書がもらえます。本当の仕事はこれからです。クラスの皆さん、一緒に頑張ろうね！

After completing 30 hours of volunteer work, we will receive “Master Recycler” certificate. The real work begins now. Everyone in the class, let’s do our best together!
